I am many things – mother, daughter, friend, recovering alcoholic and compulsive gambler, and survivor .

Walking Platitudes, as a business name, is my way of saying I believe in and have been strengthen by the platitudes so many are sick and tired of. I have, in essence, become a walking platitude because their power sustained me during my darkest hours. There is power in words if you believe in them: One day at a time. Your attitude determines your altitude. Envision the world the way you want it to be and it will appear.

Walking Platitudes is about trying to make a difference by sharing my story of addiction in inspirational, thoughtful, sometime humorous ways. With interactive fun, stories and heartfelt sharing I may change the way you look at your reality or how you approach the future.

I am available for public speaking, workshops,educational sessions, or trainings for any professional who works in wellness, education, recovery fields or businesses – any field where how the power of positive thinking can get one through the worst of times might be useful.

A graduate of St Lawrence University and Indiana University I have experience in both the academic world and the school of hard knocks (most self-inflicted). I spent over 30 years working in Higher Education and am currently working in a certificate in Addiction Counseling.
